2011 SIOP-BTG European Neuro-Oncology Training Workshop & Education Day
Course Information:
Description: This is the 1st neuro-oncology workshop and education day organized by SIOP-E BTG & the Education Committee of the ESPN (European Society of Paediatric Neurosurgery).
Location & Date: St George’s Hall, Liverpool, 15th and 16th June.
Organizers: SIOP-E Education Committee (David Walker, Guirish Solanki), ESPN Education Committee (Michel Zerah) & Local Organizer (Conor Mallucci).
Industry: Contributing Manufacturers and Distributors
Course Aims: To provide an annual European course in neuro-oncology for neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists and radiotherapists.
Target Audience: The course is tailored for entry level trainees to junior consultants.
Day 1 consists of several device workshops and core neuro-oncology knowledge transfer with certification level training for ST 1 to ST 5 level trainees.
Day 2 consists of advanced topical neuro-oncology presentations and practical case discussions with a panel of world class teachers for senior SpRs & Junior consultants.
Course Participants: About 30 attendees, with capacity up to a maximum of 60.
Course Fee: £250
Faculty: A faculty of about 30 world class European and UK Neurosurgeons, Neuro-oncologists & Neuro-radiotherapists has been brought together for the course.
Industry support: A number of manufacturers and distributors are actively contributing.
Accommodation: The Marriott Hotel. We have some faculty staying at the Hope Street Hotel.
Summary Academic Programme:
14th June evening is arrival and pre-course faculty meeting
15th June is workshop day
16th June is advanced lectures on topical issues.

The social programme includes dinner
14th June: Faculty & Organizing Committee Dinner
15th June: 7:00 PM at Alma de Cuba with the SIOP-E Meeting attendees and faculty
16th June: 7:30 PM at the Cavern Club and Beatles night with the SIOP-E attendees and faculty
